Watch: Salt Lake's Rimando sets MLS saves standard
Jeff Swinger-USA TODAY Sports
Already the holder of every other MLS record for shot-stoppers, Real Salt Lake veteran Nick Rimando added another notch to a decorated belt Wednesday night in a 2-1 victory over New York City FC.
Rimando, 37, stopped a routine Tommy McNamara effort in the 15th minute for his 1,475th career MLS save, passing former LA Galaxy standout Kevin Hartman.
The 22-time capped U.S. international adds that record to the MLS standards he's already set for wins, shutouts, starts, and minutes played.
