Watch: McCarty's hard-earned assist not enough for Red Bulls revenge
Vincent Carchietta-USA TODAY Sports
Dax McCarty was upset by the way the New York Red Bulls handled his offseason trade to the Chicago Fire, so it's no surprise that he took it upon himself to show his old employers what they're missing.
The tenacious former Red Bulls captain shrugged off the attentions of a couple of opponents before poking a pass into the path of an unflappable Nemanja Nikolic 59 minutes into Saturday's MLS meeting.
Unfortunately for the red-topped midfielder, goals from Bradley Wright-Phillips and Kemar Lawrence were enough to earn the home side a 2-1 win at the Red Bull Arena.
