Brett Davis-USA TODAY Sports
Atlanta United attacker Yamil Asad has etched his name in club lore, scoring the first goal in franchise history in front of 55,000 fans at Bobby Dodd Stadium against the New York Red Bulls Sunday night.
Asad tapped home a well-placed cross from out wide on the right, swung in by full-back Tyrone Mears.
The 22-year-old Argentinian joined Gerardo Martino's expansion outfit on loan from Velez Sarsfield, and has instantly become an important figure in Atlanta United's history with one outstretched left foot.
