Seattle Sounders newcomer Nicolas Lodeiro has made an immediate impact in Major League Soccer, quickly turning heads with a series of inspired performances that earned the Uruguay international the league's Player of the Month accolade for August.
Lodeiro joined the Sounders midway through the season as a Designated Player and has already recorded two goals and six assists in six matches, leading Seattle to three wins, one loss, and two draws.
His first goal for the club was a thing of beauty, too:
Lodeiro beat out Toronto FC duo Jozy Altidore and Sebastian Giovinco for the honor, as well as D.C. United forward Patrick Mullins and New York Red Bulls striker Bradley Wright-Phillips.
