The New York Red Bulls announced Tuesday that defender Connor Lade will miss the remainder of the 2016 MLS season after suffering a torn ACL in his right knee during a 2-2 draw against the LA Galaxy on Sunday.
The club also confirmed Lade will undergo surgery later in the month.
Lade, a Homegrown Player, had grown into a starter in Jesse Marsch's side this season, making 20 appearances and 16 starts across all competitions. He joined the club in 2011 and signed a contract extension prior to the start of the 2016 campaign.
Lade scored his first goal for the club on July 13 against Orlando City.
