New York City FC midfielder Frank Lampard was named among the "most overrated" players in Major League Soccer not long ago, collecting on a massive $6 million per-year salary while sidelined with a calf injury.
Just a few weeks later, Lampard has been named MLS Player of the Week.
Since returning to the field, Lampard has been the bright spot in Patrick Vieira's NYCFC side, scoring eight goals in his last eight matches, including the first hat trick in franchise history in a 5-1 win over the Colorado Rapids this past weekend.
The former Chelsea man is being honored for those efforts in Week 21.
