Emil Larsen has made a quick exit from the Columbus Crew to rejoin Lyngby Boldklub of the Danish Superliga.
The 25-year-old left-sided midfielder only moved to the Crew in January, but has been allowed to leave for the club just north of Copenhagen that he represented at the start of his career.
"This is an opportunity that allows Emil to return to his native country in his hometown and gain more regular minutes," said Crew sporting director and head coach Gregg Berhalter. "We want to thank Emil for his contributions to the team and we wish him success in the next stage of his career."
Denmark international Larsen made just three brief substitute appearances following his winter transfer from Odense Boldklub.
