Matt Besler's 91st-minute penalty may have spoiled Columbus' night in a 3-2 defeat to Sporting Kansas City on Sunday, but behind every cloud is a silver lining, this one in the form of Crew gaffer Gregg Berhalter.
The well-traveled defender-cum-manager displayed some of the skills from his 18-year playing career, opting for a deft scorpion kick on a ball that had gone out of play.
With the Crew sitting second from bottom in the Eastern Conference despite last season's MLS Cup final appearance, Berhalter, who won the league while at the LA Galaxy in 2011, may want to consider dusting off his football boots.
