New York City FC midfielder Frank Lampard will count himself very, very lucky to get away with his side's opening goal against the Seattle Sounders on Saturday, as the former Premier League star scored from a handball, which he played off as a chested effort.
Lampard looked to have tucked his left arm behind his chest and motioned with his torso as he redirected the ball past goalkeeper Stefan Frei but the slow motion replayed showed the ball clearly deflecting off his hand.
After some referee deliberation, the goal stood, giving Lampard his second goal in as many matches.
