Toronto FC's Osorio sidelined for Portland trip
Toronto FC midfielder Jonathan Osorio didn't travel with Greg Vanney's squad for Sunday's tilt at the Portland Timbers as he struggles with an ankle issue.
The 23-year-old has started five of TFC's six Major League Soccer outings this season, forming a valuable piece in the starting XI's midfield diamond, but he will be forced to miss the trip to the reigning MLS Cup champions after he rolled his ankle in Wednesday's training session.
Osorio's absence could provide an opportunity for Tsubasa Endoh or Daniel Lovitz to stake a claim in the lineup as both have fallen out of favor while Toronto has gone on a commendable run on its lengthy road trip.
Osorio's injury isn't believed to be too troublesome, providing hope that the Canadian will be able to feature in TFC's home opener against FC Dallas on May 8.
