D.C. United to host Star Wars-inspired match against Red Bulls
D.C. United hosts fellow MLS Eastern Conference side the New York Red Bulls on May 13 at RFK Stadium, and the match will have a galactic feel to it.
Among the events featured at what's being coined "the largest Star Wars party ever held inside a sports venue" is a lightsaber battle at the half followed by Red Bulls striker Bradley Wright-Phillips' removal from carbonite imprisonment.

"Please note that while costumes are welcome, masks must be removed upon entering the venue. We ask that guests comply with all requests from stadium staff. Do this, you must," a statement on United's website announced Wednesday.
This isn't an MLS club's first foray in Star Wars-related promotions, as the LA Galaxy advertised March's Cali Clasico against the San Jose Earthquakes with a film-inspired poster.

Mired by a poor start to the 2016 campaign, New York will need to use more than the force if it hopes to overcome six losses in the first eight fixtures. Oh well, sith happens.
