Report: Crew's Tyson Wahl has red card rescinded
Columbus Crew defender Tyson Wahl has reportedly had his red card rescinded by the MLS Disciplinary Committee, according to Shawn Mitchell of the Columbus Dispatch.
The appeal decision comes just days after Wahl had the red card suspension issued to him due to a case of mistaken identity, as referee Ted Unkel had initially ejected captain Michael Parkhurst instead.
As a result, Wahl will be available for selection on Saturday when the Crew take on the Houston Dynamo at MAPFRE Stadium.
Mitchell goes on to report that head coach Gregg Berhalter was pleased that the league had corrected its mistake but was still frustrated that the entire play yielded a penalty kick that could have had implications to the Crew's eventual 3-2 win over New York City FC.
