Wainwright starts celebrity NCAA pool to aid Flint
Adam Wainwright is using his March Madness pool to give something back.
The St. Louis Cardinals' star pitcher announced he's running a celebrity bracket challenge to raise money for the citizens of Flint, Mich., who are dealing with an ongoing drinking water crisis.
Guys, this is really important to me. I challenge you to #BeatMyBracket and let's #ImpactFlint @BigLeagueImpact https://t.co/iHbWunfbq3

Fellow MLB stars Max Scherzer and David Wright, Hall of Famer John Smoltz, golfer Davis Love III, and MLB Players' Association head Tony Clark are just a few of the notable names taking part in the pool. The public is being invited to both donate and play against the celebs, although there's no cost to sign up.
This isn't the first time Wainwright's used his celebrity to help bring clean water to those in need. His charity, "Big League Impact," has helped citizens in Honduras and Haiti access drinking water, per Derrick Goold of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.
Flint's water crisis began in January when it was discovered the city's supply had become contaminated with toxic lead.
