Rays sign Ryan Webb to 1-year deal
The Tampa Bay Rays - three days away from having their pitchers and catcher report to spring training - will have one more player join them when they arrive in Port Charlotte.
Ryan Webb and the Rays agreed Thursday on a 1-year deal worth a reported $1 million, plus incentives.

Although he's right-handed, Webb pitched better against left-handed hitters last season, holding them to a 1.54 ERA and .224 average as opposed to a 4.61 ERA and .262 average against righties.
The 30-year-old appeared in 40 games for the Cleveland Indians last season, posting a 3.20 ERA and 1.14 WHIP across 50 2/3 innings.
Over his seven-year career, the Clearwater, Fla. native owns a 3.35 ERA in 357 appearances split between the San Diego Padres, Florida/Miami Marlins, Baltimore Orioles, and Indians.
To make room on the 40-man roster, the Rays placed right-hander Chase Whitley on the 60-day disabled list.
