Analysis:
The team needed to clear a spot for newly acquired Jefry Marte on the 40-man, so Torreyes was the casualty. They had just picked him up on Monday, and obviously weren't that committed to the idea of him becoming a useful piece at the big league level. His only offensive tool that could be above average is his hit tool. With 339 games under his belt between Double-A and Triple-A, it is hard to get too excited about his prospects going forward, even though he is just 23 years old.
