Right-hander Carlos Martinez is one of the most promising pitchers in the St. Louis Cardinals rotation, breaking out in 2015 with a 14-7 record and a 3.01 ERA. Part of his success may have something to do with his windup, which is comparable to that of a Cardinals pitching legend.
The 24-year-old took to his Instagram on Monday to show how similar the finish on his windup is to that of Hall of Fame Cardinal Bob Gibson.
Martinez has a long way to go, though, if he wants to have a career like that of Gibson, who recorded 251 wins across more than 3,800 innings of work, while striking out 3,117 hitters during his storied career.
