Report: Astros, Valbuena avoid arbitration

The Houston Astros and infielder Luis Valbuena avoided arbitration Friday by agreeing to terms on a new deal.
Valbuena will reportedly earn $6.125 million on a one-year deal, reports MLB Network's Jon Heyman.
The 30-year-old appeared in 132 games for the Astros last season, hitting .224/.310/.438 with a career-high 25 home runs and 56 RBIs.
Valbuena owns a career slash line of .228/.312/.386 with 70 home runs and 229 RBIs across eight big-league seasons split between the Astros, Chicago Cubs, Cleveland Indians, and Seattle Mariners.
He was projected to earn $5.8 million by MLB Trade Rumors.
