After enduring the worst season of his career in 2015, veteran outfielder Jordan Schafer will reportedly attempt to rebound in Los Angeles this summer, agreeing Wednesday to a minor-league deal with the Dodgers, according to Jon Heyman of MLB Network.
Schafer, who turned 29 in September, will earn a $1-million salary if he makes the 25-man roster.
Selected in the third round of the 2005 draft, Schafer appeared in just 27 games for the Minnesota Twins last season, posting a .511 OPS with a 31 percent strikeout rate before being released in June as he was recovering from a knee sprain.
Over parts of six seasons in the majors, Schafer has hit .228/.308/.307 (70 OPS+) with 103 stolen bases and 17 defensive runs saved in 463 games split between the Twins, Atlanta Braves, and Houston Astros.
