The Cleveland Indians may turn to a seasoned veteran to fulfill their needs at third base in 2016.

Juan Uribe's agents have discussed a one-year deal with Cleveland, according to Paul Hoynes of The Plain Dealer.

The Indians were one of the clubs interested in All-Star third baseman Todd Frazier before the Cincinnati Reds dealt him to the Chicago White Sox.

Uribe, who earned $6.5 million last year, would be an affordable alternative to projected starter Giovanny Urshela at the hot corner next season.

The 36-year-old hit .253/.320/.417 with 14 homers and 43 RBIs in 119 games in 2015 playing for the Los Angeles Dodgers, Atlanta Braves, and New York Mets.
