For the second time in less than a week, pitcher Edgar Olmos has been claimed off waivers.
The 25-year-old left-hander has been claimed by the Baltimore Orioles from the Chicago Cubs. The Cubs had initially claimed Olmos from the Seattle Mariners on Dec. 4.
In a corresponding move, the Orioles designated outfielder Junior Lake for assignment.
Olmos, a former third-round pick of the Florida Marlins in 2008, owns a 5.21 ERA and 1.79 WHIP across 19 innings of big-league work in his career.
