The Colorado Rockies have agreed to a one-year contract with outfielder Brandon Barnes, avoiding arbitration.
"Good for Brandon," general manager Jeff Bridich told reporters. "And one of those negotiations is out of the way."
The 29-year-old appeared in 106 games for the Rockies in 2015, hitting .251/.314/.341 with two home runs, 17 RBIs, and four stolen bases.
He hit .244/.293/.359 with 19 home runs and 92 RBIs in 417 career big-league games.
Colorado acquired the former sixth-round pick from the Houston Astros in 2013.
