Hoes designated for assignment by Astros

Outfielder L.J. Hoes was designated for assignment by the Houston Astros on Friday, the Houston Chronicle reports.
Analysis:
Despite a .295/.383/.400 batting line and 26 steals with Triple-A Fresno, Hoes was not included among the Astros' September callups, and he's now been bumped from the 40-man in favor of a more promising young player. The 25-year-old has done little in 112 career games in the majors, but he could draw some interest from teams looking for a fifth outfielder.
