New charges filed against man in robbery after Cardinals game
ST. LOUIS - A St. Louis man now faces federal charges in a September robbery shooting that wounded and potentially paralyzed a U.S. Army veteran as he left a St. Louis Cardinals baseball game with his girlfriend.
A federal grand jury on Wednesday indicted Kilwa Jones on seven felony counts. They include robbery and assault on federal property, possession of a firearm in furtherance of a violent crime, and being a felon with a firearm.
St. Louis city prosecutors already had charged Jones with assault, robbery and armed criminal action.
Authorities allege Jones shot Christopher Sanna. Sanna's mother has said doctors have told the family her son will probably never walk again.
Jones' attorney, Scott Rosenblum, says his client will plead not guilty.
