A familiar face is returning to the Los Angeles Angels organization.
Jose Molina has been hired as the club's catching coordinator for the 2016 season.
Molina, who won a World Series with the Angels as a player in 2002, ended his 15-year career behind the plate in 2014 as a member of the Tampa Bay Rays. He played 947 games for five different clubs, primarily serving as a backup.
The 40-year-old is the middle of three brothers to play catcher in the bigs. His older brother, Bengie, was also a member of the 2002 title team in L.A., and a two-time Gold Glover. His younger brother, Yadier, is the most accomplished of the three, boasting two World Series titles and seven All-Star nods with the St. Louis Cardinals.
