Two major things happened in Toronto on Thursday: The Blue Jays faced the Texas Rangers in Game 1 of the ALDS, and an engagement.
Darryl Stawychny asked his fiance, Katie Bookman, to marry him with some help from her favorite player, Kevin Pillar.
"I went up and asked him, 'Hey, do you mind if you just hold this sign for me?" Stawychny said of the chance encounter at a restaurant, according to the Toronto Star's Verity Stevenson.

Stawychny's father, who died four years ago, was also a big Blue Jays fan.
