Following the Kansas City Royals' 5-2 loss to the Houston Astros on Thursday, manager Ned Yost made it clear his team is by no means out of the series after going down 1-0 in the ALDS.
"It's not a death sentence to lose Game 1," Yost said, adding that the 48-minute delay was his main reason for pulling Yordano Ventura after just two innings of work. The Royals skipper indicated that the right-hander's early exit could lead to his return in the series.
"We'll probably bring him back now," Yost said of Ventura when asked if he could start in Game 4.
The Royals will have trade-deadline acquisition Johnny Cueto on the mound for Game 2 on Friday as they look to even the series at a game apiece.
