Elvis Andrus knew the moment his left foot slipped off the bag that it was over.
The Texas Rangers shortstop was the hard-luck final out Saturday after over-sliding second base in a 11-10 loss to the Los Angeles Angels.

"I knew I was out," Andrus told reporters following the loss. "The dirt right now makes the base paths slick like a floor. I was trying to slow down the slide as much as I could. I thought about that. I thought about how the video replays go and how you can go off the bag."
The Angels scored five runs in the bottom of the ninth to erase a four-run deficit, keeping their postseason hopes alive while preventing the Rangers from clinching their first division title since 2011.
