David Ortiz celebrated a major home run milestone last Saturday when he swatted the 500th homer of his career, and he has another reason to celebrate Wednesday.

The Boston Red Sox designated hitter launched a rocket to center field off Baltimore Orioles starter Mike Wright in the second inning to set a new club record for most 35-homer seasons with six.

Ortiz's 35th blast moved him out of a tie with Jimmie Foxx, Manny Ramirez, and Ted Williams - who all accomplished the feat five times.

"Big Papi" also joins Barry Bonds as the only players to crush 35 homers in consecutive seasons at age 38 and older.
