The Toronto Blue Jays have released right-handed pitcher Joba Chamberlain.
Chamberlain exercised an out clause in his contract, which officially makes him a free agent.
The Jays signed the 29-year-old to a minor-league deal July 21. He appeared in seven games for the Triple-A Buffalo Bisons, posting an ERA of 14.40 and a WHIP of 2.60.
