There aren't many players who chase more bad pitches than Evan Gattis. This season, in fact, only three qualified hitters have swung at a higher percentage of pitches outside the strike zone.
Every once in a while, though, Gattis is rewarded for his indiscriminate approach at the plate.
On Wednesday night, for instance, the 28-year-old pummeled an eye-level fastball from Trevor Bauer of the Cleveland Indians over the left-field wall at Progressive Field, affording the Houston Astros an early 2-0 lead with a downright silly home run.

Heading into Wednesday's game, Gattis had seen 230 pitches elevated out of the strike zone this season, but had turned just one of those offerings into a home run.
