Baltimore Orioles catcher Matt Wieters will make his season debut June 5, manager Buck Showalter announced Friday.
Wieters has been progressing slowly from Tommy John surgery and will continue to suit up for the club's minor league affiliates for the next week prior to rejoining the big squad.
The 29-year-old hasn't played in a major-league game since May 10, 2014. He hit .308 with five homers and 18 RBIs in 26 games before undergoing the reconstructive elbow surgery.
