VIDEO: Rangers' Martinez throws to empty base on pickoff attempt

Nick Martinez's final line Sunday included an error, but the box score won't quite do this gaffe justice.
The Texas Rangers right-hander ran into communication issues with his infield when he spun around and fired a pickoff throw to an unoccupied second base in the third inning against the Cleveland Indians.

Martinez recovered nicely from his first error of the season, however, retiring the next two hitters to strand runners at second and third for a scoreless frame.
