Julio Teheran took his frustrations out on a baseball Thursday.

The Atlanta Braves ace issued a one-out walk to Michael Cuddyer in the first inning to load the bases and started chomping on the baseball after catcher A.J. Pierzynski threw it back to him.

Teheran's walk came back to haunt him. Daniel Murphy followed Cuddyer with a bases-clearing double to give the New York Mets an early 3-0 lead.

The right-hander issued five walks and lasted 4 1/3 innings, his shortest start of the season.

Teheran's ball-eating technique may have been inspired by enigmatic Miami Heat forward Michael Beasley, who attempted to eat a basketball during his stint in China.
