Orioles manager Buck Showalter said Pearce may get some playing time at third base this spring, mlb.com's Brittany Ghiroli reports.
Analysis:
Pearce wouldn't play third base until later this spring, and he'd probably just be doing so for a bit of added versatility. Manny Machado will likely gobble up nearly all of the plate appearances from third base, so long as he stays healthy. Still, it's worth keeping an eye on Pearce's positions this spring, as the addition of third base eligibility, while perhaps unlikely, would provide a nice boost to his value in most formats.
