The Milwaukee Brewers and reliever Brandon Kintzler avoided arbitration by agreeing to a one-year contract, the team announced. Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reported the deal is worth $1.075 million.
Kintzler battled a slew of injuries last season and eventually underwent surgery to repair a left patella issue.
The right-hander has been a key component to the team's bullpen over the last two seasons, posting a 2.93 ERA and 1.18 WHIP over 135 1/3 innings while striking out 89.
