Pablo Sandoval may be taken off the open market soon.
Contract talks between Sandoval and the San Francisco Giants have escalated to the point that other potential bidders are looking at alternative third-base options, reports ESPN's Buster Olney.
Rival officials are having difficulty envisioning Sandoval signing anywhere else other than the Bay Area, according to Olney.
Sandoval's agent previously went on the record stating the 28-year-old is seeking a six-year contract that should command around $100 million.
Sandoval has led the Giants to three World Series title in the past five seasons.
