Brewers exercise $14M mutual option on Aramis Ramirez

Aramis Ramirez has three days to decide whether he wants to play another season with the Milwaukee Brewers after the club exercised its side of a $14-million mutual option Friday afternoon.
Ramirez, who signed a three-year, $36-million deal with the Brewers prior to the 2012 campaign, earned his third career All-Star berth this season, hitting .285/.330/.427 (109 OPS+) with 15 home runs over 133 games.
Should Ramirez opt not to exercise his option with the Brewers, the 36-year-old would immediately become one of the most attractive third basemen available on the open market.
