Rockies fire pitching coaches
Ron Chenoy-USA TODAY Sports
The Colorado Rockies dismissed pitching coaches Jim Wright and Bo McLaughlin after the pair oversaw the worst staff in the majors this season.
Colorado pitchers surrendered the most runs and second-most walks in baseball under their helm. The club announced it will conduct a search to replace both positions immediately.
Wright, 59, served as the head pitching coach of the Rockies for three seasons, instructing Colorado starters to the worst ERA (4.89) in the National League.
The 40-year-old McLaughlin completed his second year managing the bullpen, which also held the highest ERA mark in the NL at 4.79.
