Ruiz underwent minor arthroscopic surgery on his left shoulder Monday, MLB.com's Todd Zolecki reports.
Analysis:
Ruiz will begin his rehab immediately and will return for a follow-up exam in a month. The injury isn't expected to have any lasting effects that would compromise his availability for spring training. The 35-year-old backstop played in 110 games for the Phillies in 2014, posting a batting line of .252/.347/.717 with six home runs and 31 RBI. His workload should remain similar in 2015.
