Despite battling an oblique strain during the latter stages of the regular season, Los Angeles Angels right-hander Matt Shoemaker expects to take the mound in the American League Division Series, according to MLB.com's Alden Gonzalez.

Shoemaker, who last appeared in a game Sept. 15, was pleased by Tuesday's bullpen session and is on track to start Game 3 of the ALDS against either the Oakland Athletics or Kansas City Royals.
