Athletics' Norris playing through 'slight hip issue'
Bob Stanton / USA TODAY Sports
Oakland Athletics catcher Derek Norris has sustained his share of bumps and bruises throughout the season, but it shouldn't keep him out of the lineup down the stretch, according to manager Bob Melvin.
Norris's injury troubles began with mid-season back pain, but he continues to soldier on for the Athletics, hitting .269 with 10 home runs and 52 RBIs through 117 games.
The Athletics have the day off Monday and will then play on 13 consecutive days to finish the regular season.
