Masahiro Tanaka: Entire Arm Sore; Not Just Elbow

Tanaka is dealing with pain "throughout the (right) arm," but is not concerned about his latest setback, Jack Curry of the YES Network reports.

Analysis:

Tanaka's setback does not appear to be directly related to his elbow injury, and he believes he is just a bit sore after not throwing for a period of time. However, he wants to be cautious so as to not injure his arm further. Tanaka is hoping to return before the season is over, but it's not clear if the Yankees feel the same way, given their offseason investment in him. With Tanaka's status for the rest of the 2014 campaign in limbo, be sure to keep an eye out for updates until more concrete details emerge.
