With less than a week left before Major League Baseball's non-waiver trade deadline, teams continue to discuss players who may be available.
Here are the latest trade rumors from around the league:
- The Boston Red Sox are quickly coming to the realization that the playoffs may not be in the cards for them this season and that may mean players like impending free agent Jon Lester could be dealt. Lester said he understands if the Red Sox decide to trade him and noted that if that scenario played out he would be willing to re-sign with Boston in the offseason.
- Cleveland's depth in the middle of their infield is giving them a chance to talk trade with teams that have a need in that area. Former All-Star Asdrubal Cabrera, who may rejoin the team Sunday, has reportedly drawn interest from clubs hoping to upgrade at shortstop or second base.
- The Los Angeles Dodgers don't appear close to moving Matt Kemp, in part because the team is worried about the injury history of their outfielders. Five teams have reportedly inquired about Kemp.
- The Miami Marlins are four games under .500, but that may not stop them from being buyers at the deadline. The Marlins have won four of their last five and are rumored to be in the hunt of a second baseman, as well as help for their rotation.
