PHOTOS: White Sox poncho giveaway goes horribly wrong
In keeping with the tradition they established with Disco Demolition Night back in 1979, the Chicago White Sox held another promotion that went horribly, horribly wrong.
In their game against the Los Angeles Angels on July 2, the team gave out white ponchos to the fans in attendance at U.S. Cellular Field.
As fortune would have it, the storm clouds came out and down came the rain. That's when the giveaway had an unintended consequence - namely that it made the festivities look a lot more like a Klan rally than was probably intended.

I think the White Sox need to rethink the color of their rain ponchos. @MLBFanCave pic.twitter.com/MXRiGLlU2h

What a terrible idea to pass out white ponchos to fans #whitesox pic.twitter.com/JG5Xy6QOBi
