The San Diego Padres are set to begin their search for Josh Byrnes successor on Friday.
Corey Brock of MLB.com is reporting that the Padres will interview former general manager and president of baseball operations for the Miami Marlins, Larry Beinfest, though the team has not confirmed it.
Beinfest, who won a World Series with the Marlins in 2003, was dismissed last September by owner Jeffery Loria with two years remaining on his contract.
San Diego relieved Byrnes of his duties on Sunday.
