Dodgers OF Crawford, P Haren won't make trip to Australia
Alex Gallardo / USA TODAY Sports
Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Carl Crawford and pitcher Dan Haren will be skipping the trip Down Under.
With Crawford's absence and Matt Kemp still recovering from last season's ankle surgery, manager Don Mattingly's usual abundance of outfield riches will be lacking.
Scott Van Slyke, who's hitting .207/.343/.414 with two home runs and seven RBI this spring, will likely get the start in Crawford's place.
Clayton Kershaw and Hyun Jin-Ryu are slotted to start for the Dodgers in the two-game series against Arizona so bringing Haren along, who said he's fatigued, is unnecessary.
