Report: Free-agent RHP Jaye Chapman drawing interest from seven teams
Free agent Jaye Chapman has two workouts scheduled this week, having drawn interest from seven MLB teams, according to Chris Cotillo of MLB Daily Dish.
The Blue Jays, Reds, Giants, Tigers, Nationals, Mariners and Dodgers are the teams reportedly interested in adding bullpen depth through a minor league deal that could include a major league spring training invite for the right-hander.
Chapman, 26, appeared in 14 major league games for the Cubs in 2012, posting a 3.75 ERA and striking out 12 in his 12 innings of work. Chicago acquired the Florida-native in a trade with the Braves, sending Paul Maholm and Reed Johnson to Atlanta.
He suffered hip problems in 2013, limiting his workload to just four appearances with Triple-A Iowa.
