PHOTO: How to keep your money in an old baseball glove
There's a whole other way to appreciate Moneyball without believing in the power of Billy Beane.
Fielder's Choice Goods hunts down discarded baseball gloves to give them a repurposed second life, whether at a ballpark or an ATM.
The company isn't the first to use the broken-in leather of a vintage glove as a wallet -- Coach offered a limited edition one of its own sourced from 70-year-old gloves in 2012 for $348. Though Coach's roots can be traced back to the buttery soft feel of a well-loved glove, FC Goods doesn't have handbags and a global retail empire to worry about.
After deconstructing a glove, the leather is cleaned and treated before it's crafted into a one-of-a-kind American-made wallet (or one of FCGoods' other small leather products).
We think the end result is something really, really special. Vintage wallets start at $120.
