Analysis:
The Marlins are getting creative in regard to finding offense, bringing McGehee in on a major league deal. The 31-year-old spent last season playing with the Rakuten Golden Eagles in Japan, slashing .292/.376/.515 with 28 home runs and 93 RBI in 144 games. Making consistent contact is a problem for McGehee, but a strong spring could theoretically push him into a significant role at third base with Miami.
