VIDEO: Andrew McCutchen proposes to his girlfriend on Ellen
You don't just get down on one knee and propose to Maria if you're the National League's Most Valuable Player.
You go straight to the set of a popular daytime talk show on national television and you get down on one knee to tell Maria that all you really need is one who's really down to turn this (MV) player's life around. Girl, I feel like you could be the one.
Okay, okay. Andrew McCutchen didn't sing that Joe song (or Big Pun's 'I Don't Wanna Be a Playa'), but he definitely proposed to his girlfriend, Maria, on Ellen Wednesday morning with this:
“I didn’t do any of this for the publicity, I didn’t do any of this for the recognition. I did this to show you that if I could tell the whole world how much I love you, I would do that."

He spent all day yesterday getting ready. Hard work pays off.
